14th Annual
ContinuEd Veterinary Ski Symposium

February 8-12, 2009
Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort
Whistler, British Columbia, Canada

This coming February 8-12, 2009, we're headed back to Whistler, British Columbia. It’s been repeatedly voted as the #1 winter resort destination in North America. Once again, the stunning Fairmont Chateau Whistler will be our host hotel, featuring superb ski-in, ski-out accommodations, and unmatched convenience. You’ll be out of meetings and on the slopes within minutes. And next year, the vibe at Whistler will be even bigger. The new Peak 2 Peak gondola (connecting the summits of Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains) is scheduled to begin operation in December. It’s an engineering marvel. Plus, the venues are all in place as Whistler prepares to host the alpine events of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Watch ski jumpers jumping, bobsledders sledding, and even give a go at the planned Olympic downhill course.

In keeping with thoughts of the upcoming Olympics, the theme of the symposium will be "Challenges in Small Animal Medicine". We will focus on two of the biggest challenges you face in your small animal patients: Cancer and Pain Management. We're thrilled that two great speakers can join us. Dr. Greg Ogilvie, one of the world’s foremost veterinary oncologists, and Dr. Robin Downing, a private practitioner in Colorado, popular columnist for Veterinary Economics (and other publications) and past president of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. Both Greg and Robin are frequent speakers at national and international meetings (and have joined us as speakers in the past). It will be fun to have them join us again. As always, twelve hours of CE will be offered, scheduled around the times the lifts are open, with evenings free for relaxation, or exploring the shops and restautants of exciting Whistler Village.

Fall is here, and the snow is already falling at Whistler. NOW is the time to make plans to join us there. February will be here in no time… and with registration limited to 70 participants, we anticipate that the symposium will sell out well in advance. We strongly encourage you to register now to save your place for this popular program.

There's also an added advantage for U.S. participants. The current exchange rate is once-again highly favorable for U.S. tourists heading to Canada. At today's exchange rates, a lift ticket that costs $75 in Canadian Dollars is about $62 in US Dollars. You'll get similar saving across the board on lodging, food, equipment, lessons, and more. It's the perfect time to take advantage and visit this world-class resort at prices you won't likely see again.
